The Power of Obedience

See… our standard of faith is so different from God’s standard of faith. Our standard of faith is this…do I like it? Does this help me? Do I get warm and fuzzy feelings when it comes to God? God’s standard of faith is so different. God’s standard of faith is – Do you obey me? Do you actually do what I want you to do? 2 John 1:6 - And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. John 14:15 - If you love me, you will obey what I command. 

     What if you asked your kid to take out the trash on Wednesday nights. How would it make you feel if every week you asked them to take out the trash and when you finally asked them why they never did it they said – well, I just thought you were kidding. It doesn’t matter how much you say you love me, just take out the trash. Why? Because words of affirmation may be my love language, but do you know what God’s is? Obedience.
